The Coppock Family has married into the Coate family and vice versa several times. If you are related to one family then most likely you are related to the other. The Coppock family bible is still in the family and dates back to 1771.

Who has the bible and are all births and marriages in it? I'm trying to find the lineage of Livina Coate (b in Newberry in 1791) who married Samuel Coppock (son of Joseph Coppock and Jane Wilson) in about 1810. It's probable her father was David Coate, but I can't confirm anything other than other people's unsourced family trees. Any insight? Thank you, Regina Anderson

The U.S Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy and Quaker meeting records are both available sources that document the Quaker’s marriages and get togethers. The coppock Bible is in Omaha Nebraska and I have scanned copies of the vital pages. Livina’s parents were Marmaduke and Mary Jane coppock, she married William green and then Samuel Coppock. My email is minnesota1@gmail.com. Linda Coate is the Coate family expert

TexasDude... I can tell by my Furnas relatives and my Coppock relatives that we follow the same ancestors!! Marmaduke Coate who married Mary Coppock is my 5th great grandfather. Would you be willing to share the pages of the Bible that you copied? I am in Ohio and not getting to Omaha anytime soon :) I have been in contact with Linda many, many times! It is great to be here on this blogsite!
