Timothy Kelly immigrated in 1750 from Dublin, Ireland, to South Carolina in the area now known as Camden in Kershaw County. The passenger listing shows him accompanied by 3 children: Abigail, John and Samuel. I believe that his wife, Abigail Mickle Kelly, died around 1740 before the family left Ireland.

The Kellys were part of a group that formed the Fredricksburg Monthly Meeting in Camden SC in 1755. By 1776, Timothy was deceased and his son Samuel was appointed as a trustee. Samuel married Hannah Belden and 1762 the couple moved to the Bush River Friends settlement in Newberry County, SC.

Samuel Kelly was disowned on May 28, 1791 because he refused to give up his slave. Samuel and Hannah had 5 children: John Belton, Abigail, Samuel Jr, Rebeckah and Anne. Abigail is my 4th great grandmother.

Abigail married Samual Gauntt on April 30, 1785. They had 5 children: Samuel Kelly, Charles, Publais, Esther and Keren Happock. At some point the family moved to Greene TN. Abigail died in 1800. Samuel remarried in 1807 and died in 1831 in Greene, TN.
